WebSep 16, 2024 · For some reason, when Commodore came up with the AGA chipset that can handle the frequencies needed for driving a VGA monitor, they actually used timing that significantly deviates from what a VGA monitor expects with their double PAL and NTSC (DblPAL and DblNTSC) and Multiscan Productivity screenmodes.
